Maya the Bee
"Who's a friendly, little bee playing oh-so happily. Credits Voices: Made in 1975, aired from 1988-1992, on Nick from Jan. 1, 1990- Dec. 31,1992. Based on The Maya the Bee stories by Waldemar Bonsal. Buzzing Everywhere!
Maya the Bee was a cartoon about a young honey bee named Maya her brother Willi and many of her insect friends (among them Flip, a grasshopper, Sidney, a centipede, a battalion of ants, Alexander, a mouse, Dr. Mulberry, a snail, Mrs. Cassandra, a teacher bee, and Gramelda, a spider). Maya was sweet and innocent always trying to help people and was very friendly. Willi was kind of shy and easily scared. Together they learned many life lessons. The show was Japanese in origin and aired in Japan from 1975-1976. The original title was MITSUBACHI MAAYA NO BOKEN.
