Cornstalk Heights
Walking through Cornstalk Heights gives you a feeling of nostalgia for a time gone by. Located in Harriman, TN, Cornstalk Heights consists of over 150 historic houses, all of which were built over a century ago. People have traveled from all over the world to see the lovely Victorian Architecture and to experience the extravagant lifestyle experienced by the upper classes of Harriman during the late 1800s. Anyone interested in visiting is encouraged to consider staying at Bushrod Hall Bed & Breakfast on Cumberland Street in Harriman.
It should come as no surprise, given the long history of the area, that at least a couple (and probably many more) of these houses are infested with ghosts. I have been told that one house is haunted by a young lady dressed in the clothing style of the Victorian era. Her identity is unknown. A few other ghostly accounts in these houses have also been heard, mostly the apparitions of people dressed in 1890s style garb. Given its history, we should expect some of these homes to be haunted, if ghosts do exist. These ghosts are the remnants of a past, and perhaps better, time.
