Mining Spirits
 The area around Ducktown and Copperhill, in Polk County, TN, is home to many spirits, or so the legends say. These ghosts are the spirits of miners who died here many years ago.
Mining has always been a dangerous job, and it was even more dangerous in the past. Over the years, many accidents happened. Many miners died. Maybe this helps explain all the strange occurances in Polk County. Today, it is said, you can hear their screams of agony near long abandoned mining shafts. You can see their wispy spirits drifting about. Is this true? Perhaps, perhaps not... Not many people wish to investigate.
