Marietta Cemetery

Marietta National Cemetery, located in Marietta, GA, just north of Atlanta, is said to be haunted by many ghosts. The cemetery is enormous, and is the final resting place for thousands, including Confederate soldiers, former slaves, and citizens of Marietta. The dead soldiers are said to roam the grounds at night, still in their military uniforms. Sometimes gunshots are heard, as are drums, and marching, according to some locals.

Aside from the soldiers, it is also said that there are certain statues of the Virgin Mary who seem to cry, or look into an onlooker's soul. Also, the ghost of a young child is said to cry at the grave of his parents.

Since the cemetery is locked up at night, you can't venture in to see these ghosts. Perhaps this is for the best.
