The Spirits on the Strip
In Clarksville, just off Interstate 24 is a long line of restaurants and businesses known as "The Strip." Though it's heavily developed now, only about thirty years before this area was farmland. Every farm had it's own family plot, but unfortunately, not all the graves were moved by the developers, and some are said to still exist underneath the pavement and asphalt. For this reason, the strip is said to be haunted by the spirits whose graves were disturbed.
Charles Edwin Price wrote in his book Haunted Tennessee about an experience a young lady had while working in a restaurant. According to this book, strange things happen in a particular restaurant. Voices are heard, and scratching noises are heard underneath the floor. It's enough to make you lose your appetite!
