Haunted House in Teleford

Location: Teleford, TN

On Halloween night me and some friends decided to check out this house that a guy had been saying that was haunted by his uncle who had went crazy and hung himself from the banister. When we got there it was about midnight, and we went in. It was cold under the steps and at the top especially around the banister. As we were getting ready to leave nothing happened until one of my friends said "wait." He stood on the steps and said he heard a music box. We told him he was crazy then it looked like someone pushed him down the steps. He tumbled down them and hit his head on the wall. After we carried him outside we heard growling from in the house and my other friend saw something red in the top window. We left and came back later that night and it was gone but we still go check it out every once in a while. If you would like to go check it out you can message us or I can give directions to it.

Brister Library

Location: Memphis, TN

Hi, I go to the University of Memphis. My boyfriend and I have always been interested in hauntings. We heard rumors of the tower story before I found your web site. When we read about it we decided to do a little exploring. They are reinventing the library and tower right now, and they happened to leave a door open. We got to the second floor when we had an overwhelming urge to leave. We were walking into a room where there was a strong wind (maybe from a widow or something left running by the workers). Steven and I both heard a noise in the corner, like clicking or steps. We often sit around the building at night and just watch. We have seen objects slightly swinging in the windows and lights get brighter in one area of a room. We are the type of people who like to know what happened and when so we can rule out natural occurrences like wind, etc.

Shiloh Spirits

Location: Shiloh, TN

I live in Savannah, TN, and I used to live in Crump, close to Shiloh. My mom, dad, and some of their friends were driving through the Shiloh National Military Park one night, when they went to pull away from the stop sign my mom saw a soldier dressed in a military uniform carrying a gun and marching. Everyone in the car saw him and when they looked back he was gone.

Now since they saw this mysterious figure they will no longer venture into the park late at night.

The Mysterious Light of Chapel Hill

Location: Chapel Hill, TN

We wanted to send you a note about how we liked your story about our town legend. This is a version my husband's grandfather told him.

A hobo was in a tree waiting on a train, and fell asleep and fell out of the tree and knocked himself out. A train came along and ran over his head. Lawrence's Funeral Home went to collect the body from the tracks and couldn't locate his head. It is said he walks the tracks at night looking for his head.

My husband (also John), believes it's the way the moon hits the tracks on certain nights. He has seen the lights a number of times.

A friend of my daughter's lives next to the tracks and leaves flowers there.

The son of our local vet was also killed there a few years ago in a car hit by a train. That is why the police don't allow you to stop on the tracks.

Happy ghost hunting!

A Night in a Haunted House

Location: Kingsport, TN

Several years ago when Rotherwood Mansion went on the real estate market, the Realtor paid several college students to spend the night in hope to clear the rumors of it's haunting. When she returned in the morning, they had left a not to not worry about the money and to never ask them to stay there again. They refused to discuss what happened.

Bell Witch Adventure

Location: Adams, TN

I have been to Adams, TN many time during my life but only once did I experience anything worth mentioning. I was driving home from Gallatin, Tn to Clarksville and I decided to take HWY 41 home I have done this many time before the road was not new to me. It was getting dark just after leaving Springfield, as I entered Adams it was about 8:00 PM as I got near the Bell witch sign that sets in front of the place Adams holds their autumn festival each year and just past the Bell cemetery my eye caught sight of a young girl in front of the sign. She was dressed in green and her eyes glowed like the moon's reflection had hit them. The only problem was the moon was no where in sight it hadn't rose enough for it to cast any light. The girl was just standing there with her hands clasped and she was smiling. Her dress was green with a jacket. She wore button top shoes and her eyes were green. Her skin was white like she had never been in the sun. I'm not saying I saw the witch but many years later I read the Bell Witch of Adams and the book described a young girl that played with Betsy on the swings, well they described the girl I saw standing along the road so completely it frightens me to this day. I did once venture to see the cave but when we got to the house we (my friends and I) were greeted by an errie feeling so strong that we just turned the truck around and left. I've not been back to Adams since. I would still love to visit the cave one day but I'll have to take along somebody braver than me to lean on.

Ghosts of Country Music

Location: Nashville, TN

I am from Nashville and I had one thing to add to your Ryman Auditorium part. Supposedly there is ALSO a woman in a blue and white checked dress that walks around.... Some people think its Patsy Cline or some other famous country music star of the past. The Union Station (the old railroad station) has 2 ghosts I saw it on some show on the travel channel, but I can't remember what they do.

Bell Witch Nosebleed?

Location: Adams, TN

I have visited the Bell Witch cave and the owner's of the house and land give tours and they recommend that you not take anything from the cave like rocks, and sticks and such.... Well my dad (being the bright one) took a piece of gravel and for some reason set it next to my bed, just because he was joking about it, and I got a really bad unexplainable nose bleed about 2 minutes later (I have never had one before, without being hit in the nose first). So then I cried and made him mail the rock back.
